Most transport companies want a running car they can drive on, strap down, and not worry about. Some will take a non-running for an extra charge.
You should call a few and ask, explaining it is a bare rolling (it does have tires, right?) chassis that weighes maybe 800 lbs. Selling a space with so little weight may offset the charges enough that they would make the exception.
It only costs the phone call, and many of them are free.
Thanks for the replies, but thats already exactly what I am doing. (I should have said that). Getting lots of "we don't do thats". Please respond only if you either KNOW of a company that ships frames, or have done it.
if I can arrange a trucking company to move stuff from NY to AZ from all the way across the pond then surely you can find one that's willing to stuff a frame in the trailer.
I don't want to throw a wrench in your deal or anything, but there are lots of frames/chassis available in CA and AZ that would be a lot easier to move. I looked for a new frame for about 2 weeks and found a nice one in SoCal that I picked up and returned to Phoenix with on the same day - We strapped it into my F250 short box bed and it made the trip no problem. Within a month or so since then I saw other frames come available even closer (cheaper too, oh well). You might find a cleaner one out west as well.
I haven't had to have a frame/chassis moved specifically, but I've moved other large/heavy objects that fall out of the normal realm. There are company's that specialize in transporting boats/rv's etc that routinely come back from a delivery empty and are very willing to pick something up for the return trip to try to recoup gas and expenses. You're moving it between good geographical locations so it shouldn't be a problem finding someone with that route. Look on the internet for boat or RV transports and find one that services one of those locations. You might have to wait a couple of weeks for the routes to work out, but it's relatively inexpensive and the people that do this are adapt at it.
