console paint/dye
I purchased a new plastic console from Eckler's. It it molded black and is supposed to be paintable. My first attempt at painting failed as the lacquer paint comes off easily. The console will be great if I can get the color to stick. Any suggestions?

lol you tried laquer. 
Get some vinyl dye form your autoparts store. Lay down alot of thin coats. Its not going to be the perfect color after one coat especially if its black to start with.

I would use the dye primer, redish-brown or greyish first- pick the closest to your final color- and then whatever color you want it....probably three coats....all the vendors have the primer and colors...
