Default 68 Corvette Question

Is this a 68 part? It is a left lower dash light bracket. I saw some C3s use a separate little bracket but saw this one and like to know if anyone knows what year this part was used, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4612267442 Thanks AL.

Tim, any idea when they used this type bracket? I've mostly seen the small screw on ones like the use on the passenger side, AL.

I did buy one like you sent because I didn't want to use a separate light bracket to hold the light, AL.

Tim, thanks but I've owned mine for over 20 years and it has drove me nuts because I have a mix of new and old design parts on mine from the factory , AL.

Hmmm, my 68 vert didn't have the bulb holder either on the reset bracket. There was a separate bracket, similar to the rear compartment light bracket. Which is correct?

They both very well may be depending on what day the car came down the line. lets just say 1968 manufacturing practices were not neccesarily an exact science. especialyy since it was the first year of the body style.

My 68 has the the trip reset bracket with light on the driverside. The passengerside and rear compartment light brackets are the same.

This is not how mine was from the factory because there is a bracket there with out the lamp holder and hole on the bracket that was maybe for the separate lamp holder. I did like the idea of having the one bracket holding the lamp and the reset cable so I did buy one, I like to know when the combination bracket was used and the separate lamp holder was used (was this a convertable/coupe thing?). AL.
