So maybe you guys saw my post earlier, finally posting some photos of my 1979 L48 that I bought about a month ago. Anyway, when I got the car the old man that sold it to me gave me a folder about an inch thick with every single receipt for every repair the he ever did. At the time I wasn't paying much attention and just thumbed through the folder, not really looking at each piece of paper carefully.
So today, being a lazy overcast Saturday sitting at home, I thought, "hmm...why not check out the contents of the folder and see what was really done to the car over the years."
So I began digging...and digging...and what do I find??
Wouldn't you be excited to?? All this history AND the original window sticker!??! Woooo Hooo!!!!
If you or anyone else wants a dealer's invoice for your car (77 corvettes and newer) call Stacy at Allied Vaughn 734 421-0273 ex107 give her your VIN# and 50 bucks and she will send the one for your car.. This info thanks to Rich (rihwoods)

I bet most Chevrolet window stickers do not say anything like that one does. Very cool find. Sounds like you got your car from a "Vette Guy" that really cared about his car. Nice find.
... seeing that early of a VIN # on a '79. Your's is car #429 out of 53,807 built in '79. Surely your car was probably a second or third day production car.
...I forgot back then they didn't charge for an automatic transmission on the L-48 engine.
...your car also had the P225 White Letter GoodYear PolySteel 70 series radials which I thought were great tires-wish I could come across a couple NOS sets. Bought a set new in 1990 for my Orange '74 coupe and GoodYear was still making them.

That is cool info!! Makes sense - early production. This car was ordered, from what I understand, by the owner of Pine Belt Chevrolet specifically for his wife to drive. The car came in and unfortunately she did not like it for whatever reason - so they immediately sold the car as a "demo" to the man I bought the car from who had his wife driving it for 20 odd years. I also have the original application for title that shows the history. So he got a great deal, and of course, 27 years later he passed it on to me!
