Default Widest tires w/o modification
I want to put 17" Torque Thrust II's on my 74. I would like to run 45's all the way around but I don't know how wide I can go w/o rub in the front and any fender mods in the back. Any suggestion?

you can get 275 40 17 with around 4'' backspacing

I have a 70 w/ 255/50 17's. They fit w/ no rubbing anywhere.

275 with 4" of backspacing? Really?! But why only 40 sidewall?
