After 3 years of putting it off, I finally had the original black vinyl seat covers replaced in my in my 69. I have always heard that Al Knoch Interiors made the best reproduction covers, but didn't know who to have install them. To make a long story short, I had them installed by Al Knochs' crew at the Houston Corvette Expo. Fantastic job, and not all that expensive. Dale Robertson and his road show crew were a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend them.
If you have never seen them work at a big show it it quite interesting to watch. They can put a top on quick and make it look great. I have late C3 seats in my 69. Bought Al Knoch covers already on new foam from them and they look great.

Yup, my buddy is having a top put on his 66 at the Carlisle show by Al Knoch. The only drawback is you have to leave the top up for some time to let it strech out, so It will be a hot ride back for him in August with a black top up.
I stopped by and talked seats with them for awhile. They are not just selling stuff they have on the rack. You want custom stitching, or perforated leather on 79 - 82 seats, you got it. Add on's of course cost, but they were very reasonable.
