Default 1982 Value ????

I have a 1982 Corvette that I'm thinking of selling but can't really find a good way to judge the value. It's got 37K original miles. Red on red. Car is 100% original. It has a few flaws but just because it's be around for 24 years. I would rate it as VERY good condition.

Can anyone give me an idea of what the value would be?

Start with the NADA Blue Book On-line - then use your own judgement as to the adjustment on value.

It's good condition mechanically and the paint is very good. I looked at the NADA but it just seems to vary so much I'm not sure how much to trust it.

FWIW I picked up my '82 in 2004 for $15,000. It is a two-tone car with glass tops, alum wheels, leather and most options but not the power door locks/seat/mirror or rear window def. It has cruise, power windows...weird, huh?

It is very original...in fact, I think I pulled the original plugs and air filters out! She showed about 22K on the clock when I bought her, has 27K now. I have documented it back to the original owner, something the previous owner had not done. I have tons of other documents, build sheet etc. I have it insured for $20K and would ask $17 ~$18 for her.

I saw a nice one at the Houston car show yesterday for around $18,000 with 39K miles. 82's in original condition are nice cars.

It has power windows, locks, defroster, air, glass as well as fiberglass tops, aluminum wheels, cruise, power seat. It has cloth seats but I'm replacing with leather.

I do have ALL documentation, including windows sticker. I believe I'm about the 5th owner but I was able to do a CarFax to determine the original mileage.

Really nice car. I hate to get rid of it but thinking of buying a different year.

If you're thinking of selling it I'd keep it original ...the door trim tag will inform savvy potential buyers of the cloth seats vice leather...may cause concern over such a low mileage car...where there is smoke there's fire...a purist point of view

Well, to remedy that, I bought Al Knoch leather on foam. The original cloth are perfect and I plan on just pulling out the originals and storing them. This way I can easily put back the leather. The problem is that I already bought the leather after I decided to sell.

I paid 8k for my 82 a month ago. It needs paint (a 10 footer) 120k miles on the car. Most of the stuff works on the car but needs a little TLC. My car is 99% original (paint, motor, tranny, rear end and interior) The exhaust has been modified and a new after market distributor has been installed.

Hope this helps.
