Default UPDATE: 70 LT-1 restoration progress pics - Green Machine

UPDATE.....CAR IS IN DONE! (well your never really done) BUT IT'S ON THE ROAD...

I'M REAL HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS OF THE PIANT JOB (DONNEYBROOKE GREEN)....AND LOVE THE SIDEPIPES!

EVERYTHING HAS BEEN REBUILT OR RESTORED TO ORIGINAL (pretty darn close) WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE WHEELS (17"), BIG BLOCK REAR SWAY BAR SETUP, AND 69 VERSION SIDEPIPES (PARAGONS REPOS....VERY NICE).

TIME FOR SUMMER AND MAYBE A FEW CAR SHOWS!

Wwow. Very nice work. I did the same type of frame-on resto so I understand what you went through. What paint did you use on the frame? Brush or spray?

HAD THE TOP OF THE BIRDCAGE REPLACED, DRIVERS SIDE CORNER WAS PRETTY BAD, SO I HAD A NEW SECTION WELDED IN FROM CORNER TO CORNER FROM A DONER WEST COAST CAR....THEY DID A GREAT JOB.

STRIPPED, SANDED AND PRIMED....BODY WAS IN REAL GOOD SHAPE. CAR ONLY HAD ONE REPAINT ON IT AND VERY LITTLE BODY WORK WAS NEEDED.

PAINTED DONNYBROOK GREEN, CLEAR COATED... AND FIRST RUN OF WET SANDING.

TRIM PIECES AND BOTH REAR VALIANCE TYPES PAINTED....I'M GOING TO PUT SIDE PIPES ON THIS CAR!!

DOOR JAMBS PAINTED...

SIDE GILLS DONE, THESE CAME OUT GREAT WITH THE CHROME EDGES UNDERNEATH IN GOOD SHAPE/CORRECT FOR A 70 (the previous guy had painted over these and I was concerned they were sanded off).

I SHOULD GET IT BACK BY END OF NEXT WEEK ONCE THE LT-1 STIPES/LETTERING ARE PUT ON THE CAR THIS WEEK AND ITS BUFFED OUT...I WILL POST MORE THEN. NEXT STEPS ARE TO INSTALL SIDE EXHAUST, GET THE CAR ALIGNED, INSTALL BUMPERS/TRIM, AND FINISH INTERIOR.

Mine was originally Donnybrook also. White when I got it and now it is black. The Donnybrook with clear on it is going to look nice when it is all together. Keep the pics coming.
