I know there have been threads before on this but please excuse an old f@rt. just bought a set of carpet off e bay and am wondering what is involved. also i want to replace seat covers and foam. any help will be greatly appreciated. the car is a 69 base convertiable.
I replaced the carpet in my 72 coupe, and it was really easy. The only thing I would do different is to put in either the dynamat, or reflectix to cut down on the heat or noise.
Taking everything out is easy, but be prepared to make a list of all the things you want to replace when you put things back. With new carpet and seats, then all the surrounding parts will start to look bad. Think about the carpet sills. Those could be replaced at the same time. Low cost but big visual rewards.
here is the front before I started. There was a break fluid leak dripping onto the driver side carpet.
Here is the during photo.
And I cant find my after photo, but it came out great.
New carpets, door panels, ebrake console and sill plates all went in. I am doing the seats now.
