Default John Wayne's Corvette

A 1953 Corvette in Harrah's Museum in Reno. Strangely, the only good photos I got were of this Vette! (I took about 50 overall).

This tour is reccomended HIGHLY!

Default Duke's Vette

If I am not mistaken, the Duke gave this car to fellow actor and good friend Ward Bond as he could not fit in it comfortably!

Dang, now I am really mad I missed it. I was in Reno 2 weeks ago on business. Tried to make it to the museum but it closes at 5:00 during the week and I was in meetings all day.

Thanks for the pictures, maybe next time.

Time's sure have changed. The Duke had a gay old time "ridden" fast horses and driving kick butt cars. Now days in the movies cowboy's are just looking for butt er.

The pedal car was one of 20 built to go into showrooms as display.
The story on this one is that it was in a small town Chevy dealership when the only doctor in town came in and wanted to buy it for his son. The dealer said no it was being kept for display. The doctor said "Ok, just don't call when you get sick." They delivered to the doc the next day.

The photo with the car pretty well verifys this. As best as I can read -

Lee,
First it was mine(Mike?) - I gave it to Ward on my left. It was the first out here.
