I want to insulate the interior of my 79, mainly because of heat, but the noise levels are high also. I have seen mention of Dynomat, Duramat, Reflectix, Nuprene, etc... What works best?
Combonation of Reflectix layed down for a thermal barrier first and on top of that Nuprene for sound deadening. At 3/16" thick and very light weight and easy to work with it is a very tough combo to beat IMHO, houstonvett
I put down Dynamat first, then the Reflectix on top of the Dynamat.
I covered all of the fiberglass tub in the driver/passenger cockpit. I did not cover the top portion of the center console area. It would have required too much futzing with cables, wires, etc. I didn't think the effort would be worth it. I also covered the rear deck and sides of the wheel wells. I did not cover the interior of the battery compartment or the jack compartment.
