Summit basic one has been starting my 540 for quite a few years..no issues. Neat part is that it is adjustable, where many mini starters are not. This allows you to reposition it to clear headers, oil pans etc much better and get away from heat.
It's all Nippondenso stuff inside. In fact, the starter contacts finally wore out on my C-4 one weekend and I eyeballed the '67's starter that wasn't being used right then. I took contacts out of the Summit/Nippondenso and stuck them in the C-4..they were actually larger and better than OEM GM, but fit housing perfectly. Got me going,,then I went to starter place the next week and got new ones to reinstall in the '67's Summit one. No problem. The Nippondenso style will outlive you and about the only thing that will eventually wear out will be the contacts in solenoid. BTW- the C-4 had 175K on it when it finally wore out.
That is what I am using on my 350. Fits any Chevy engine with a 14", 168 tooth flywheel or flexplate. Nice thing about being GM, easy to get parts. Part #9000852.
