I got my 'major' parts order from Dr. Rebuild. Let me tell you. Each part looked like my Mom packaged it. Each one had an identifying number PLUS (most importantly) a quick description of what the hell the tiny little part was. I inventoried everything. Each part that was in my hand was on the invoice. Each part that was on the invoice I ordered... well with the exception of one B/O item - but I had a credit for the item stapled to my invoice. Sawweeet.
The weatherstripping was SO SOFT !!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to install it and the underbody heat shields. I did skimp on the cheaper door handles, and noticed the gap around the hinged part was not consistent - I will most likely upgrade for the better handle.
In summary - I found Debbie good to work with and CAN"T WAIT TO INTSALL ALL THESE LITTLE TINY &%$@* PARTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dr Rebuild has good stuff-and lots of little stuff nobody else has. Most NOS.
.and if it's not NOS,the repro parts are often made by Dr. Rebuild, he takes pride in making repro items that are of good quality and looks correct down to small details. His catalog is usually specifies what is NOS, repro, functional replacement, etc.
great feedback and perfect timing on it.
I just put together a very large DocRebuild parts order but I've never ordered from him before. One question I was wondering in my mind was how well marked the parts would be when they came in so I would be able to identify what was what. I'm very glad to hear you say they are all well marked. The last thing I wanted to to recieve in an order with almost 100 different parts numbers and not have them well marked to what each one was!
Just get the catalog and order over the phone. They folks who take the orders know their stuff and work quickly. In a lot of ways, it's easier than e-commerce...especially if you have a lot of questions or concerns.
Example, when I was ordering my interior parts, I needed carpet and a rear compartment lid setup. The woman on the phone suggested that she send the carpet to DeWitts where the rear compartment is built so that the color matched properly. It took 2 seconds to do that on the phone, but it took me well over a minute to even type that description.
I've sent a couple thousand dollars to the Doc and I've always been pleased with the service and product.

I could never get someone to answer the phone. Resorted to faxing my order. If there were questions, they were good about calling for clarification.
One more vote for the good Doctor and Debbie.
They are Corvette people not just Corvette vendors. What I like is that they seem to have everything in stock and they are knowledgeable enough to know what I need when I don't know what I need. They ask all the right questions. I used them to restore my 68 and I am very pleased. Their warehouse is like a giant toy store for Corvettes. Great to deal with.

Yeah - it is nice to have someone say, "While you are doing that, you should..... or you need this or that...."
I just cleaned up in the garage a bit and grabbed the Dr Rebuild parts I ordered 2 years ago in order to organize and make sure I am aware of all the parts I actually do have !
Kaiserbud,
Don't feel bad, I needed a quick paint job that turned into a 10 year restoration of every part on the car. Started in August of 1995 finished in Sept of 2005 but it was well worth it and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Just keep plugging away and you will get there eventually.
It's a labor of love and you never finish, there is always something else to do.
