Im working and a friend asks if I want to take a ride to see a Corvette that might come up for sale. I say sure and we go into the next county and as we pull around back a 72 t-top is parked outside with the car cover on. Its decent and something I would be interested in if I didnt already have my 72 vert apart. I tell the guy to think about me if he makes his mind up one way or another. He asks if I am only interested in vettes and said he has something else inside.
We go into his garage and he pulls the car cover back on a 1964 Jaguar XKE convertible. He said it was his dads car and that they restored it in the early 80's. Its been sitting inside ever since. It was dusty but BEAUTIFUL! I took some pics of the Jag and wanted to share. The Jag I dont think will come up for sale anytime soon but man it was nice checking it out. I know its not a vette but I did see a lot of the styling cues in the Jag that are used in the stingrays.
Nice, but what a waste. Should be driving it, showing it, or at least wrapping it in a bubble.
No doubt. What kind of human could leave that sitting in a garage without driving it? When my '71 is off the road for weeks for a project (this year it was new heads) I start having dreams that I am driving it.
It would be like being married to Angelina Jolie and then deciding to become celibate.
