Well, it not a corvette, but I'm excited about it. I just bought a 1966 Malibu convertible, all original. I've never had a convertible, so I hope I like it. Another thing is, it's not a ***** to the wall, burn the rubber off the rims engine, it's a L6. But since I'm not a street racer and more of a cruiser, I think it will be a good cruising car, besides, with the price of gas, it should be easier on the wallet too for those long drives.
I looked for a long time to find a nice original chevelle malibu and this one is very nice. I'll be picking it up in a coupe of weeks. It's going to look good next to the vette. Anywoo, just wanted to share my excitment.
Sounds good,, got any pix's,,,good luck with it,,,,,
Peace,, Moosie
I'll post some pics when I bring her home, I want to clean her up alittle before her debut. Of course, it will be old news then and no one will want to see her anyway.
was a green, 66 Malibu, 2-door automatic with a 283 and a transmission that used to whine every time I drove it. I loved that car! In fact, I saw a restored 66 on the lot of a used car dealer about 6 years ago. I stopped to take a look, and decided that night that I was going to buy the car I always wanted, a vette. Took me another year to find the one I own today.
...I had from 1977-1984 a '66 Chevelle Malibu convertible that I bought with 105K miles on her-sold it in '84 with 260K miles on her and saw her 5 or 6 years later with 330,000mi on her. It was a 283 2bbl/PowerGlide car, Marina Blue w/blue interior-drove that freakin' car EVERYWHERE. Would love someday to have another '66/'67 Chevelle again.

Paul, the car I'm buying is white, but not for long. I love that Marina Blue, and with black interior, sweet. The car is all original, 230 L6 1 barrel, The engine was just rebuilt and so was the powerglide tranny, so she should be good for another 100k miles. I'm going to fully restore her to better then new, so I'm ready for some fun. I will be picking her up next week, I can't wait.
66 is my favorite year Malibu/Chevelle. I'd love a 396/375 horse 4 spd coupe. In fact in high school in the late 80's, one of my buddies dad used to let him drive that exact car every once in a while to school. His dad bought the car brand new in 66 and still owns it. It also was Laguna Blue with blue interior.
Here a pic of the car. The top pic is the way the car looks now. The bottom pic is the way the car will look with the American TII rims. I'm go to have the car painted Marina Blue.
There are a few thing that need attention, some emblems are miss and need to be replaced and a few other small items, but nothing major.
i had a 72 buick skylark convertible. ford red, black interior, gs rims.
beautiful black interior, bench 40/40 bench seat. convertibles are the best. you'll love it.
first thing you need to do-take it to a drive in.
drop the top, whatch the stars, and chill. dude, its great.
i'd still own mine, but it burnt up in my driveway 2 years ago.
That looks pretty good. I was thinking about getting something else besides a vette to work on my self. But then who has the time with everything I need to do to mine.
