These shields were on my car when I bought it...I love the look. These have since been discontinued, but I'm pretty sure that a few people on here run the same shields that are put on Cobra side pipes.
I wonder if anyone makes black heat shields.. Don't think that ceramic coated heat shields gonna look too good with my black pipes on the yellow car...
before I had my car in my possession I worried if the sidepipes would be a problem. after owning it, and just being relatively careful, I decided I like them just fine
the covers in the pics do look good though, I just found I dont really need them.

I burnt my leg on the test drive before I drove it and have never got burnt after that!!
I'm very very careful when my daughter gets in and out though.
Did them by hand, Marck. Not tough, and only took an hour or two. I bought about 8'[~2.5 m] of 1/8"[3.18 mm] x 3/4"[19.05 mm] aluminum stock from the welding supply and starting cutting and bending. I think I ended up scrapping about 2'[61 cm] before I got what I wanted.
I looked and looked and couldn't find anything I liked, so I had to do it myself.
I went with the shorter version of cobra heat shields. That way I have all the benefits of protection from burning my leag, while maintaining the visual appearance of the pipes themselves.
Chris, those solid heat shields are sweet. I still like the perforated type, though...it looks a bit like an old air-cooled machine gun barrel. I might go your way to be cheap, though...
