In the event you didn't know, the alarm key cylinder switch should be centered on the rear panel (about 2" or so above the "CORVETTE" letters). Look on the inside to see where the hole was probably patched (glass or bondo).
My 70 swith is in center above license plate in rear and there were two different alarm switches for 70, an early and late, if you are using the existing hole size, check to see is it is early or late model. Paragon has early switch, any GM dealer can provide late model (about $30 for switches). The horn is in the rear drivers side area in front of rear drivers side bumper. Good Luck!!!
My Feb. '70 vette has the "early" style switch. I got it from Paragon, as the old one was rusted. The horn goes behind the left rear wheel well, adjacent and above the gas tank. Not easy to get to. My original horn was totally rusted and inoperative. The bad news is, if you want to replace it w/ an original, you're gonna have to find a used one and hope that it works and that they don't want an arm and a leg for it. If I get mine repaired, I'm looking at nearly $200 ! Ugh. Not at the top of my list right now... BTW, the lock goes with the key teeth facing down.
Speaking of repairs, it's not very difficult to fix these horns. Try drilling out the rivets and carefully seperate the cover piece. Inside you will find a set of contacts and a coil. Usually all that is needed is cleaning the contacts, but sometimes the adjusting screw may need to be tweaked a half turn in either direction to adjust the "voice" quality. Riveting it back together after repairs are made is easy.
