Default what are these wires?

on my 78. they probably aren't part of my problem, but i first was having a lighting issue with my speedo and tach. haven't fixed that yet, but now have noticed that my fuse for stop lights is blowing as soon as i attempt to add a new 20A fuse. i doubt that the pictured wires have anything to do with either of these problems, but i'm trying to clean up the electrical mess while i'm back there. thanks.

I don't know about the wires but is that the "Trailer Park Boys" in your avatar?
I picked them up on the satellite a couple of years ago, they were a hoot!

they are the wires for the light at the top of the gague panel that iluminiates the heater-a/c control.

Make sure you connect them before you put the guage console back in because there is just barely enough room for your hand in there afterwards.

Not sure about the stop light issue, but if those two wires were shorting, they were probably blowing the fuse for your speedo lighting.
