I am one of the many who decided to fix up the rear end on my 56K mile 71 vert. Shipped out trailing arms, added adjustable strut rods, poly bushings (everywhere, eventually), GR2 shocks, new gas tank, and the general paint/clear coat.
After looking at some of others cars pictures in the forum, I have to be very pleased with the lack of rust and the overall good condition this car is in.
Doing the rear solved the chassis "jitters" and trailing arm float at the front worn out bushings.
I am still trying to do something like this without spending twice as much as I think it will cost, but have failed miserably. If all else fails, just spend it! Do it once and do it right. It's so worth it in the long run.
yea sometime...I wirewheeled and painted the back part of the exhaust with hi-temp aluminum, which looks better that the rust color...good enough until I add new exhaust.
