"Will spill coffee on your original document- $69.95
Will supply an original document of my choosing (old newspaper or mazagine, depending on what the wife wants to get rid of first) and then spill coffee on it- $99.99.
Unfortunately there is some truth to exactly that--they have made such a premium out of the "tank sticker" "having the documents" and blah blah blah that you knew it had to happen---now some NCRS guy will come on a say they have a Carbon 14 test or whatever to tell the "real GM paper"
It doesn't really suprise me that much. If there is any money to be made out there, you can be darn sure that someone will capitalize on it, whether it is ethical or not.
I don't need to - just got my window sticker from the National Corvette Museum and I have the original Manifest for my 81 - it came in a packet of "original" documents that the previous owner had. I tried to get the Museum to enlarge and laminate it but they won't touch someone elses papers, only what they can get from the Bowling Green plant. My car btw was out of St. Louis. (Oh here is what the museum will do - if you have your manifest (tank sticker) make a copy of it, fax or e-mail it to the museum, they will send it out to a 3rd party and have the window sticker re-created just like the original on GM paper and laminate it and send it back to you).
This just helps dealers like ProTeam to ask ridiculous sums for "documented " cars.
This whole originality thing is such a crock.
Yeah,, I'd have to agree with you on that point,,, cant stand people making bogus cars original after they have swapped this that and the other then return it to "factory original" when they want to bail out,,,,,,,,,money hungry bassards. Crooks too, Peace,,,Moosie
