Default Getting Started - 78 Pace Car

Just purchased our car in NC. How do you go about determining the factory build info with respect to your specific car? ie. options. Our car is in a trailer slowly making it's way to Indiana.
Thanks

original paperwork if it's still with the car such as window sticker or if the build sheet is still somewhere in the car.

Build sheet may exist on gas tank...if you can't find that, another way is to get the Dealers Invoice from Allied Vaughn....who is servicing GM documents..

In addition to paper documents, your car will have both a trim tag and a VIN tag (vehicle identification number). The trim tag is a stainless steel tag, probably painted black (body color) held in place with two rivets, located inside the driver's side door jamb. Open door and look at the bottom of the windshield post.

The VIN is located on the driver's side windshield post and is flat black in color.

Other helpful stamp information is the engine block which simply confirms power team combination and will include a VIN stamp derivative that will match the tag on the windshield post.

My suggestion is to visit the www.ncrs.org website and pick up a copy of the 78-79 technical reference guide. It will detail how to interpret codes, where to find them, what to look at, etc, etc.

Also you may find this article of help in terms of paper documentation:

Corvette Documentation

Hope this helps...Oh...what is the last five digits of your VIN?

Thanks to all for the info. VIN ends with 3559. I'm told that is build 3559 of 6502 pace cars.

Take care
Gary
