Quote: Use this as needed for parts as the spring is heavily rusted and rubber brittle but the switch has no broken vacuum ports or parts.
It isn't broken, but the switch and rubber pad is shot. If someone has a good spring and rubber piece but broke the rest, it seems like a decent idea. What does one run new?
It is broken, How do I know? I just replaced mine a few months ago. The spring and rubber dust boot are held on to the rest of the switch with a large diameter button that is part of the small diameter shaft on the switch side. I know because that is exactly how mine broke.
Here's a good one:
Once that button breaks off there is no way that you can make it stay. I tried everything from 5 minute apoxy to JB weld.
This one is $24.00 from Ecklers
On another thread, which didn't seem to get much notice, I had a post about an item about that sold on ebay for $441.00, a NOS "L88" heater close off cap. The bizarre thing was that this part is apparently still in the GM parts catalog and sells for $2.01.
This transaction got a lot of discussion NCRS.ORG. If you're interested go to NCRS.ORG and do a search from March 1 to March 14. Use the search word "L88."
