Andy, who designed these after the original mako Shark emblems, is a good friend of mine and a fellow member of my Corvette Club. One of the nicest guys you would ever meet!
BTW, he just started a new website for the emblems if anyone is interested.
Hi Barry, as always my friend appreciate your kind words....
"Sharks" are mounted any way you wish..They come with flat backs. The website that Barry above aludes to tells all about them and their are a few pics as well.
Carl....These would look pretty good just about anywhere...Some owners are putting them inside their engine compartment, some on the hood area....Gorlla Glue and double sided tape should do the trip. Shoot me an email , a PM or leave me feedback on the website that Barry mentions.
Man, the season is starting soon...So glad for that!!!!!!
Sunny in Pennsylvania today..Time to get out the car and go for a ride with the Mrs.!!!
Appreciate everyones feedback on this.....
Hopefully these "Replica" items will add something special to your Corvette. Some folks are purchasing them for their HOUSE as well....Especially if one room in their home has a "theme", like an ocean or a sealife room, as an example.....
I hope mine are in the mailbox at work! I thought about using them on the fenders but decided to customize my valve covers with them. I would be some kinda mad if someone stole them off my fender.
Kevin....I have had mine on now for 4 days or so..Took a 30 mile cruise yesterday and they are ON TIGHT..They won't budge....The Gorilla Glue etc. works as advertised....I didn't use the glue to put them directly onto the car...BUT, put the glue on the back of the emblem as they instructed, put the heavy duty double sided tape on right away, and let it dry for 4 hours....Then adhered the tape onto the car...
As far as putting them on your valve covers..any idea what Kevin should use guys????
I have a set of the Edelbrock elite valve covers that came with a car. I never liked advertising for Vic Edelbrock that much, so I thought I would grind the Edelbrock out of the cover and put my new sharks in its place. I have not given much thought about attachment yet.
Looking at them here on my desk I realized they also make nice paper weights.
Those came out great.
Ever since Andy (maybe it was someone else) was talking about
making these, it has been in the back of my mind also.
I drive by a casting shop each day, but never went forward with the idea.
I think I'd like a pair of these, but for now I need functional parts.
Thanks Dave...The attention to detail was WAY MORE than I expected as evidenced by Carl's and other comments as well.....Plating/pewter like finish could have been a bit better......BUT, overall a nice product...keep this saved in case you ever wish to get in touch with me and the posts have been archived.
