Metal Data Plate-Disregard, found the answer!

The metal data plate is missing from the driver's side door post. Can this be replaced?

You can call PROTEAM Corvette Sales and ask them how they do it. HAHAHA

I dont have an answer but im sure you can rivet it back on as you can a VIN. Im not an expert but thats my guess. There are others here who are and im sure they can advise.

Yes you can get a replacement trim tag, but they are fairly easy to detect and expensive.

Why bother?

I think they get $225 for Corvette trim plates including 2 rivits. You are correct, there was a lack of a hash marking or machining pattern that wasn't on these plates. The average person would never notice it. Supposedly they have corrected this.

There was a guy on Ebay recently selling original trim tags for around 20 bucks, you might get lucky and find one to suit.

...nope-doubt anyone EVER, EVER will be able to "correct" it. Once you know what to look for with a higher power monocular scope, you'll be able to pick out 9,999 repros out of 10,000 real ones.
