I put mine on the back side of the passenger fender well. Plenty of room back there, out of heat's way, and you can just run a power wire to the starter. sorry i dont have pics.

i talked to msd when my first box went out(from coil mounted on intake at a angle,,a air bubble forms and burns out coil,,and box,,need a dry coil not oil filled if using intake mount) they said that they have been doing tests that showed that the boxes actually worked better when mounted in engine compartment because of the heat,,the thing likes it hot!!-heres wher i put mine drivers side inner fender(look behind master cylinder)------------------------------------------------------------.
Have mine INSIDE the car on the passenger side under the dash. Away from the heat, moisture, yet easily available.
Having the box inside the car is good spot, nice and safe, but I wouldnt put it there. The 6AL, if I remember correclty, provides about 400-425 volts to the coil. With voltages this high, you will have a much greater voltage drop over a long length of wire. Its good to keep the box as close to the coil as possible to eliminate as much of that voltage drop as possible. Up under the dash is probably close enough... just dont put it behind the seats.
