Hello all,
I know for a fact that my engine was replaced in my 73, and I have been working on decoding the numbers on the current engine. If I'm on the right track feel free to let me know!!
Casting #3970010 - 350 CI 69 - 80
Date code ( located on passenger side toward rear of block) - E22
E - May, 2 - 2nd day, 2 - year of decade (1972 I guess)
Stamped code (located on block just in front of passenger side valve cover, was painted over and hard to distinguish first two characters)
- V 05 03 TRH
V- Flint Missouri
05 - May
03 - 3rd day of month
TRH - ??
This is my first attempt at decoding a block so, any confirmation would be greatly appreciated. You guys have been a great resource, thanks.
Well, I know this is not original because it is in an '81 C3. It has a 4 Brl and looks to have been built, sound like there is a cam in it etc. Where can I find the decoding ring??
