found a bumper vette
it has the cheese grader vents in the side. thats a ? 70-73 i think. it was orange with brown interior, auto, has the stingray emblems on it and looks all original except the rims. body is in very good shape, i looked for cracks or repairs and found none. the chrome bumpers are in good shape and are lined up perfect to the body.
anyway we got the phone # thru work and i called the house tonight and asked if it was for sale and the owner said actually yes he would sell it
i said how much and he said he would like to get at least 6,000.00 for it.
so tomorrow i go look at it and talk to him. is it worth 6k?
i have a brand new 454 with dart sqaure port heads, intake, dominator, ect. that i put in my monte carlo ss that i havent even started up yet and also a brand new th350 with tci 3500 converter that i would love to put in a bumper vette. i'll take some pics tomorrow of it when i go look at it. i might be taking it home this week
under the car, frame, ect. can i see any rust from the inside around the windshield or will it just be on the outside.
why couldnt it be a 4speed car
oh well. i'll post some pics tomorrw night to get some opinions on it.
it is a 72 and the little tag on the console says 350ci, 11.00:1 compression, 370hp, 380tq. which engine did it come with. it has a new crate engine 350 in it and it ran well. i was shocked. the owner does have the original engine in the garage. i checked under the car good and it has just surface rust. the birdcage has a little rust along the drivers side but not bad and the pass side is perfect. i can still see the orange paint on it. the interior is shot!!!! the body isnt bad at all. well i bought it for $5900.00 and picking it up tomorrow night after work.
i cant wait to get to work on it this weekend

how do i find out exatly what motor and options it has, or had
i know it has ac, and manual windows, no tilt.
did the original console have a tag on it with the motor hp,tq,ect?
The 72 plate had motor cubic inch size, foot pounds of torgue and compression ratio. They werent too happy with the HP ratings due to changes in the way it was calculated and left that out lol.
