i classified it as modified... that might be why it's high..... but it was appraised at 22,000 and if i insure it as stock and shyt happens, i'll be screwed........
i don't see any restrictions unless it's a collectors car...
$622 for a year...$30,000 coverage..... that seem right?
i have to read more to see what the restrictions are..
b
i just sent Grundy's a check today for $360 for $30,000 agreed value for the year. i had hagerty for same coverage 3yrs ago for $450. maybe u need to move out of the slums i've got no mileage restrictions w/grundy or when i had hagerty. oh, and i'm a lil bit modified

It's not the "under 30" rate. As said several times already, it's the "modified" rate. Do you have a lockable garage where you can store the car when it's not being used? Do you have a daily driver that has full coverage?
Those are some of the requirements for Hagerty (and most other specialty insurers).
P.S. - Turning 30 ain't gonna do sheet for your rates. I'm 43, no tix, no accidents, no claims and my insurance goes up every year.

I just recently called them and talked with them on the phone about my car. The modified rate was about 150% higher. I don't fully understand what they consider "modified" though. I mean anything out there short of a NCRS car would be modified. They said even putting different wheels on your car would classify it as being modified, which I find to be totally absurd.
That jives pretty close with my Haggerty coverage, Onaqwst. Mine is also classified as modified, in the NW Ohio area, for $40,000. My premium is $612. I may switch to Grundy next year if Haggerty won't lower the premium a little. I mean, it only costs about $0.30 per mile to keep it well-insured, but with the restrictions, I expect a better rate than I'm getting.
If you drive it often and have a good record, especially if you have other vehicles , you can get a good deal from State Farm. They'll have a local office, will take digital pictures of everything and agree on the value. My collectors cars that I drive regularly cost no more than $350 a year. If you rarely drive it and it is garaged, you can get a good deal from J C Taylor. My resored '60 Metropolitan only costs me $54 a year.
im with haggerty $225 a year agreed/appraised value of 35,000 no deductable, not modified policy. modified jumps rate
Agree with Carl, modifieds jump rates, it also depends on the state your are located. Some states have higher rates than others. I have been with Hagerty for 4 years now, had 2 claims, both were paid "ON THE SPOT", flat bed towing is incredible, it really works great. My rate is $209 a year, 0 deductible on both comp and collision. Agreed value is at $25,000, but I will increase this to $30 to $35 K next year.
...I have all four of my C3's insured with Haggery for the last six or seven years now. All four are insured for total agreed value of $78,000, unlimited mileage, garaged at night, can be driven year round for $505 for per year. Had one claim for $1847 and they paid within 5 days, had the car repaired where I wanted it repaired.
...to me, $505 for all four for all year is cheap.
