Hey everybody. I am a new member, but I have been reading the forum for a while. I have been dreaming about owning a vette for as long as I can remember. Finally, it happened. I got a 1980 L48 black on black. There was one owner till 2004 who kept all the paperwork, and then two other owners, one had to go to Iraq and sold it, and the other ran into money problems. Unfortunate for them fortunate for me. I don't have any questions yet, just wanted to get into the postings.

Sounds like you got a good one. Pictures? Congrats...............LT
That is a good looking car. I like the shape of the 80-82 vettes. With the amount of documentation you got from the first owner you should be able to keep track of the history on what has been replaced, and when.
Looks like she is in really nice shape.
Congrats ... you will enjoy.
Don't be so hard on automatics.
My built-up TH400 can be lots of fun - even behind an old L48.
Thanks for the replys. I do love it. I just wish I had more time to drive. I'm not against people with automatics, but I just feel that manual is the way to go.
Very nice. I have a red 1980. It was beige when I bought. Black is my other favorite color for this year. The fact that yours has a four speed is really cool and rare (I think). Sweet car. Enjoy!
Noticed that your shift pattern is blacked out on the console plate? You can either paint the pattern white or replace that plate with a new one from Corvette Central or Corvette America. Not an expensive fix at all.
