Default Floor Mats Question

I'm a C4 owner, but I was looking in the Mid-America catalog at floor mats for a friend of mines '75 vette and I was wondering why the passenger side mats have a slit in them?

Thanks

Where is this "slit", and what appears to be the purpose of it? The driver and passenger side mats for C3s are each shaped differently, but I don't recall seeing any with slits in them anywhere (i.e. where they transition from the floorboard to the angled firewall area).

Not sure why the slit is there...

Have you checked the C5 tech section?

(Sorry, I couldn't resist)

It looks like the slit is particular to that brand of floor mat ( Lloyds ) This mat is a thicker matt with extra rubber gripping material on the back. I think that due to the thickness they may need to make the slit so that it will form to the contour of the floor pan area.

If you look at other C3 mats you will see that they normally have an indentation, more like a V shape in this same area of the passenger side, but not a slit like the Lloyd mats have.

I just picked up a used but decent set of the ABS/carpet drop in things on eBay for $30. They don't fit perfectly, but I like 'em.
