Default 1982 Classifieds

I was in the back storage room at the office yesterday looking for my timing cover (never did find it) and ran across a 1982 Seattle Times newspaper. I was looking at the classifieds, curious to see what some of the prices were for Corvettes. Found a 1963 Split Window for $2000, owner said the body and frame were perfect but it "ran rough". Then there was a '69 big block in good condition for $4500. Just below it was an ad for a 1980 Vette for $15,000. Can you imagine a 1980 going for three times the price of a big block chrome bumper C3? Also ran across a 1966 Nova SS for $3800.

Back to work on that time machine.

My dad bought his 66 back in 80 for 4000. It has to be the most rust free corvette i've seen to date. We unbolted the trailing arms.

Last year I found a the 1967 classified ads in my house and did the same thing. There were no Vettes for sale but plenty of 50's and early 60's cars for a few hundred dollars. I'll bet my 68 427 was worth less than a grand in 1974 (the oil embargo year).

Adjusting for inflation, that would be about 10.5K in 2005 dollars. Still a pretty good investment.

This is a very cool link. I've been amusing myself with it for 20 minutes now.
