Default What am I doing wrong ??

I am trying to find an old posting I read about on the forum related to 68 front grilles and when I use the search feature nothing comes up.
What am I doing wrong? I remember there was an entire threaf on painting front grilles on 68 & 69 Corvettes but I can't find it.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Kurt

LittleJake,
Thanks for the help. I was not getting into the archive search because I have never tried doing serarch before. I thought something was wrong when it only came up with 36 matches.

PRNDL: Yes, "Grilles" as in the General Motors Corvette Parts book, not backyard barbecue grill for hotdogs or steak.

PRNDL,
I found the thread I was looking for and it was the pictures of your 68 front grilles with the silver leading edge.
My reason for searching was I am trying to determine if the circular pocket around the parking/directional lights is also painted silver on the leading edge and it appears from your picture that it should be.
Am I correct???
I am painting mine today which is why I am asking.
Thanks
Kurt

Don't use a pic of my car as an example! I just freestyled mine. I also posted a pic of a bowtie original 68 that you could use as an example, although some of the original paint may have peeled off over the years on that one.

geez... it is really hard to tell. I must have used a flash, and it is difficult to tell from this pic what is painted silver and what might just be reflected flash..

if you look at the pic posted by 601P farther down that thread, it looks like the circle around the parking light is NOT painted silver.

PRNDL,
Good point about the reflected flash.
I guess I will start with the center grille and do that one first as that is pretty straightforward. Leading edges get paint and top horizontal bar gets no paint.
Thanks for the input,
Kurt
