i am pretty sure this car has had at least 3 paint jobs. the last two were pretty lame. I can only take so much sanding and scraping at a time.
so i get tired of sanding and decide to put in an electric fan as a "side project". The fan is in and its time to install the switch. i go to tap in to the fuse box and there is a problem... all the fuses work but they are rusted into place. so i switch to an "alternate side project" and start removing the interior. the fuse box location on these cars is just crazy. you gotta lay on your back with feet out the roof and it just doesnt work... (these cars were not originally designed with t-tops but when the GM guys tried to get to the fuses they must have said "heck, try to pull the roof off and see what that gets ya") Anyhow, so now i can break each fuse out and clean it up, refurb the interior, convert the tach to electric for the hei dist, and continue to prep for paint.
I hope there are still fossil fuels to burn when i get finished. i will be pissed if we run out of gas.
ps. i hope you guys are having as much fun as i am. i love my car, but tell me... are they fun to drive also?
Actually they're just as much fun to drive when everything isn't to the nats as **** retentive perfect. Probably a lot more fun cause you won't be scared to death of putting a nick in the paint or overstressing something.
Spray a little CRC lubicant or WD-40 on the fuse box and let it sit some and then start pulling the fuses. I had a C-2 Corvette that went under water in a flood back in 71'. After pulling the Gage cluster I cleaned all the electrical back then with CRC. The stuff works great. It is also good stuff to use in the bulb sockets.
A few years ago, my interior looked like yours does now. Keep going. They are fun to drive, but only when you've got all the bugs, leaks and rattles worked out.

Man,telling someone your not going to pray for them is beyond wrong, thats borderline antichrist,i'll tell you what, I'm going to pray for you because you need it more than he does.

Good one!
Sometimes I just have to walk away and start in on something else, too (I've had 3 different projects going on 3 different cars at times before).
Good luck!
