Ebay is actually causing some concerns for car restorers in that people are buying guys that would be restorable and parting them out. The upside is that for those of us who own that drives car prices up. the downside is more and more cars with potential are destroyed.
I started breaking down my factory 82 tilt/telo column to try and tighten it up.....ended up making a mess of parts.
I bidded on a 80 tilt/tel column with steering wheel and ended up getting it for $79 + 40 shipping. It was tight and just needed a repaint. I sold the steering wheel that came with that for $20 on ebay a few weeks later and sold my original "parts" column a month later on ebay for $159 + shipping.
Yeah, they are getting pricey ... as are many other items.
