Default Rainy Weather = Lean or Rich?

My carb is still not tuned correctly. I noticed that it drives a little better in rainy weather. I'm under the impression that rainy weather leaves less available O2, causing the mixture to be more rich. Which would mean that my carb is running a bit lean... Am I right on this one?

My plugs burn light tan, so don't tell me to check my plugs. It needs more fine tuning than just getting the plugs to burn the right color.

Check your plugs
Couldn't resist.

As far as rain and mixture is concerned I haven't got a clue, sorry

Light tan plugs mean you are running slightly lean.Good for economy not good for power .If it runs stronger in the rain it means you need a little less timing as the humidity is reducing detonation.Try to get the carb mixture a little richer, that in itself may fix it ... if it still runs better in the rain back off timing 2-4 degrees.

Rainy weather is normally produced by a lower barometric prresure....making the air less dense. A lower pressure would make the mixture more rich, as the same fuel is being metered with less air available for the mixture.

That being said...I am not sure that it would make a measurable difference...unless you tuned your car in Miami and moved to
Denver.....so check all your other stuff first.

Good luck.....

You were right. Putting the stock jets back in (2 sizes up) made the car run better.
