Default antenna conversion to power

anyone ever convert their antenna to power?

if so what is involved for the conversion?

I converted mine to electric only because I came across someone selling a power antenna in C3 for sale section. Easily done conversion. Just have to run a couple of wires. It also helped matters for me because I had the interior out in mine when I did the conversion. You can see the antenna at the end of my Timeline Video in my sig.

thanks for the quick answer. i have to redo my interior anyway
so when its out i want to do the conversion not only for the clean lines
it offers but it will also help when i cover it.

I did the same as Eddie 70 on my 69 vert. I ran one wire to ground and the other to a switch on the dash. I put the antenna up/down manually. It makes it easier to put the car cover on the car with the antenna down...

This brings up the question of whether or not one needs a Power Antenna Relay? I assume the relay keeps the antenna from sucking too much juice throught the stereo, but maybe this is no longer necessary. I've got both, but neither are installed yet.

I like to relay everything. I know on Pioneer stereos, the line for the antenna is not made to power it, but only to switch a relay.
