Default Frame Question

my '75 has been in storage for a few years now.i was changing the ps pump when i noticed some rot on the bottom of the front crossmember.there is also a small crack just on the bottom.how bad is this?

If the rot is bad enough to see, no telling what is inside the frame that you cannot see.

if it's that bad there..it's probably much worse in areas where water collects,... the triangular gussets on the rear crossmember, near the #2 body mounts, underside of side frame rails.....

there is a lot of surface rust,but this seems to be the worse part i could be wrong.the only rust i noticed before i let it sit was the core support.should i not go any further on my repairs on it.

inspect the rest of the frame first and then when you know the overall condition start making a plan.

i'm poking around it now.there is some flaking in the areas you noted.i knocked off mabe 1/32 off the edge.can't tell if its dirt,rust or both.

.... Looks like mid 70's front crossmember/frame issues aren't uncommon.....John

she spent two winters outside(very harsh winters).the crack runs up the center of the bottom of the crossmber.can't really see it in the pic.
