Default '82 Collector Edition Value

I'm looking at buying an '82 Coll. Ed. and was wondering about what they are bringing. This one is in fairly good shape with a new interior and decent exterior, new tires and many fairly new parts. The front cap and both doors have been replaced. The engine runs strong and most components appear to be in working order. The car is a theft recovery and while the odometer is showing 32,000, the owner, says he doesn't know. He says the car sat outside without t-tops for 11 years, hence the new interior. I guess it's best to say mileage is 132K. Overall, I'd rate the car a 3 or good driver.

Well --- Nice ones with low miles, bronze t-tops, correct wheels, correct interior in good condition, good paint and good decals often sell in the 20's. Repainting and new decals are expensive items on the CE's.

I have been watching some CE's on ebay the last week and cars showing some wear and tear are selling 6500-10,000. This car is probably like some of those.

make sure the hatch works too,

From time to time I've seen some pretty nice drivers sell on Ebay for about $6500. The average I think is more like $10,000. Some have sold for over $20,000.

If the car you are looking at needs interior, paint and a whole bunch of other work plus the theft recovery status I wouldn't pay more the $3,000 to $4,000 and thats provided it runs good.
