This was gas price in El Centro,Ca this morning...I had filled up in Yuma,Az (50 miles east)earlier ($2.79 premium)....just stopped here to clean bugs off windshield...
I think I can show you a 50 cent difference within about a mile! There is one gas station in my town that is notorious for having the highest prices in NJ. Don't know why anyone goes there. They don't even post the price of premium so the suckers will see the high price (midgrade) and automaticallly think it's the price of their premium gas.
OK, this is the best I could do... 5.9 miles between the most expensive in NJ (the one in my town) $2.89, and one of the cheaper stations in NJ $2.29. 60 cents, 6 miles... I like that!

Rich, here's a little secret, drive a little faster (110 or so) and the aerodynamics of the front end of the vette will create a air flow that will cause the bugs to go up and over the vette instead of going splat on the windshield
Well, it doesn't really, but that's what you tell the cops when you get caught speeding
Carole Nix emailed me some pics of the Yuma trip, looks like you guys had a great time
I stayed home to catch up on work around the house. . . well, o.k. "honey-do's" I admit it. Took off the spare tire cover today and started cleaning it up, I may paint it flat black after it's all cleaned up.

20 vettes drove to Yuma from Phoenix to meet us...we got there from Temecula 6 minutes after....with 12....the in "vette" scavenger hunt was a big hit with everyone...great lunch afterwards...then my shifter linkage took a dump on me...see my thread on that one..shifter buzz...

Driving down there all was cool...Got there and Desertdawg(forum member) of ACE and I moved our cars near the restaurant to park...all of a sudden,my shifter just flopped back and forth (1st-2nd)...thats when the spring clip fell off,I guess....parked it,enjoyed lunch with ACE group, then went to fix it after checking into hotel....
I'll post thread later on the ACE/COTV meet there...got to get pics organized...really a fun event...met some neat Corvette folks from ACE....
thats because the oil companies think we have forgotten since last fall
basically the country for the most part has become complacent when it comes to the price of gas, the feds did a little investigation back in Nov and said yeah the oil COs are gouging but nothing ever came of it.
so yeah look for steady $3 per gallon in most of the country by memorial day and $4 + in california.
all i can say is man am i glad its coming back on Motorcycle weather here in the northeast.
My new overdrive is looking better all the time. By my calculations it should save me around $300 a year putting on a measly 5,000 miles if my mileage goes from 13 to 17 MPG with $3 gas. At $4 it gets even better. Maybe not a reason in itself to do the swap but it sure is a nice extra benefit.
