I change all of the cars oil myself. While it's a lot easier to have one of the local quick change facilities take care of the oil and the mess, it's not a lot of fun when they tell you that you need a new oil pan because the plug is stripped out. Despite the fact that they and I had the records proving that they were the only ones to change the oil, I was still out the cost of an oil pan. At least when I do it, I know it's done right.
I wouldn't let some oil change place touch my C3's
I wouldn't let most places touch my LAWN MOWER....let alone my C3. I've heard WAY too many stories about careless employees who couldn't give a rat's azz about your car or it's oil....no thanks. My father taught me at a young age and I have done the same for my two boys...we maintain our toys OURSELVES.

way too many horror stories out there. Don't most of those big chains use real crap oil anyway?
I sometimes change my own oil in my driver, but I just paid $2+ per quart at the store! It might be cheaper to take it to a service station with a $15.99 coupon.
My dad changed my oil why i was at work once i got the car.....
He loves corvettes and since i have one now, he loves to work on it,and maybe ill let him drive it cause he is the one who made me work hard for it and inspired me to get it. ofcorse hes the main one that will work on it with me, when i need help.
I had to change my brothers oil before... He coudlnt do it in his Tuner
Your kidding right. You own one of these and don't change your own oil
No I'm not. Just because I dont change my oil doesnt have anything to do with how much I love these cars. I am just not into wrenching. I consider myself a Vette guy as much as the next.
I could see not doing the change for a daily driver...buy your fun project car? come on now...
My car is not a "project". I worked a second job for 5 years to save enough dough to buy the car of my dreams, and it needed nothing. I have not had a mechanical issue in 5 years.
I pull all of the service on my vehicles where I have the knowledge. My 79 Vette, 89 PU and 95 PU are relatively easy to work on. My daughter's 2003 and wife's 2004 are very problematic with oil changes about the only thing I can safely do.
