Tach Help

The tach on the dash doesn't work. I have one mounted on the steering column that the previous owner installed, but it looks tacky (no pun intended, I'll post a pic later). I would like to get the on board one working. I think that I need to buy a new printed circuit board, but is there anything else that would cause it to malfunction?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure that the wire is plugged into the distributor right next to the power wire.

A bad tach filter will also keep it from working.
