Default Engine Hoist, Stupid question

What's the correct way to add hydraulic fluid to the cylinder.

if it needs fluid, im assuming it has a leak....

not sure either way..

mine has a little screw on the side and I pour fluid in it.

If it needs refill because of a leak, please tear it down and fix the plunger cups. IT WILL FAIL AND BREAK SOMETHING....MAYBE YOU

At the base or up along the cylinder housing? When do you know if its full?

I believe you have to fill it when it is fully retracted.and add as much as it will take, but I would also strongly suggest that you repair any leaks or any bad seals first.

Basicly what happened is the cylinder was stored upside down and some fluid leaked out around the shaft. The jack still works fine but I want to top it off.
