Any suggestions to shine up the tires? When I use a gel the white raised lettering gets dirty. When i use a spray my wax job gets speckled. Any suggestions are appreciated. Also I have a black 79, anyone used the new Mr Clean spotless carwash?
Thanks
I use Meguiars NXT tire spray, I close off the spray nozzle a bit and it never gets on my car body.
As far as the Mr. Clean carwash, a friend said he'd give it to me. He used it once and said it's a piece of junk.

I am in Sault Ste. Marie Glass act, where are you In Ontario? My vette is still in storage until sand and salt is cleaned up. Looking froward to getting it cleaned up. Thanks for info
I use Mequiars Gold Class Endurance tire gel. I apply it with applicator pads from Eagle 1. It lasts longer than anything else and I don't get any splatter on my paint.
If the tires are already clean, then the shine sprays all do the same sort of thing, it would come down to personal preference. To elminate any oversprays, spray the liquid onto a MF(Microfiber), then wipe. This may leave a slightly less shinier surface. If you want a higher shine, then aim the nozzle very close to the tire while lightly spraying, it should not overspray then.
Took me a while in my detailing days to figure that out...
If this isn't Performance..... Why then I just don't know what is.. Maybe it's tech too, because he wants to know what kind of high tech spray will stick to his tires AND keep them shiny!

Endurance is a thick purple liquid that goes on well with the tire shaped foam applicators. This is the best stuff I have used so far.
when i wash the car, i wet the whole car down then grab the westley's bleach white and scrub the tires. then after the car is dry as well as the tires, i spray the tire stuff... they have cutouts you can hold on the wheel to spray around but i just aim carefully or use one of those tire sponges with the tire shine on it already..

Try Zaino Z-16 if you don't like it real shiny. Apply it to a cloth and rub it on. THis keeps it off the wheels. Gives a nice satiny finish and won't sling. Just make sure your tires are clean before you use it. It doesn't dirty the white letters either. I use Wesley's Bleach white to clean the tires before using the Zaino.
a lot of those tire shine products can deteriorate the rubber of the tires too, I'm think its the petroleum based ones that do it. I had a set of tires start to lose air from sidewall cracking after only 20,000 miles that I'm pretty sure was from tire shine

Put a second coat on an hour later and it looks even better!

This is the best out there. If you want to dress the tire and clean the white lettering this is the only product that does both very well at the same time. There are two formulas, a high shine and a medium shine. Get the medium.
