Power Antenna Issues
I have a 78 C3 with power antenna but the antenna broke. The 78-early 78 antennas were not rebuildable so I had to chuck it. I've searched everywhere for a used one but no luck since they only made this style for a year and a half.
I was told by every place I called to just buy the Delco reproduction antenna which was used on late 79-82 C3s.
I bought it and also bought the mounting kit which includes an offset washer to get the antenna to sit straight and a mounting bracket.
Problem is, it does not fit the car. I have it mounted through the existing hole but I can not make heads or tails of the bracket they gave me.
Does anyone have a late 79-82 that they might be able to snap a picture of and show me how it is mounted?
Any help would be appriciated.
If you can send pictures, please send them to me at: be5563@yahoo.com
Thanks,

. The late79-82s have a flat spot on the fender top for the bezel. My 78SA came to me with a generic GM "replacement" power antenna. The fit at the bezel really bugged me. They had used just a strap at the bottom mount, top just attaches with the chrome bezel. I set off to find an original style 78. Ended up assembling my own with NOS parts. Found a motor, mast sections, and a nice used tube from a broken one. Hardest thing to find was the plastic insert for the fender hole.
Whoever told you they are not rebuildable didn't do you any favor. Easier to rebuild than the late79-82s. I've redone a lot of them over the years. All of mine including the late 79 plastic ones, a few for friends and a few that a buddy sold on ebay.
I still have 2, a NOS one and a nice clean used one. Not cheap, tho.

Just sent some pics on email. I got my replacement antennae from corvette america. The bottom part swiveled in a bowl type configuration to mount tight. The top assembly came with 4 different plastic sleeves, each shaped slight differently to conform to the fender curve of different models. Worked out really well.
