The ZR1 is a totally different motor. So the answer to your question is no. The ZR1 is a 32 valve motor as opposed to the LT1's 16. And still today it is one bad *****.

.........The first ZR-1 came out in early 70s,not 1990.
You are correct sir, the first LT-1 was in 1970. This lasted just 3 years, ending in 72. The ZR-1 option had a different suffix code on the block (either a Y or a Z, one is the ZR-1) too lazy to walk out in the garage to check.
My 71 LT-1
I think your answer is no.
But all ZR-1's had LT-1 motors.
ZR-1 designated a:
Performance suspension package
M22 4-speed
and LT-1 engine.
Suffix codes for the LT-1 are:
1970 CTV
1971 CGY
1972 CKZ
All C3 ZR-1s are LT-1s but not all LT-1s are ZR-1s. The C3 ZR-1 was an RPO code for a performance package that included the LT-1 engine. But you could buy a C3 with the LT-1 engine without buying the ZR-1 package.
In the C4 world the ZR1 was a performance package that included the LT5 engine (DOHC). But you could not buy a C4 with the LT5 engine without the ZR1 package.
