Default 1978 L82 ?

So what is the difference btwn a 78 L48 & L82 motor besides a little more compression, aluminum manifold, air cleaner & HP? .. i heard steel crank & 4 bolt mains is this true and did they have different heads ? thanks

L82 had 4 bolt mains, forged steel crank and forged flat top pistons. A very stout bottom end. It also had different heads and cam with larger valves, and screw in studs. Not sure if the chamber volume or runner volume was different though.

L82 has much stronger bottom end as mentioned above, plus big valve heads and a much hotter cam.
