Default Headlight Actuator Removal Help????

Heres what I understand is the procedure for removing the Headlight actuator....Just wanted to sanity check with someone thats done it before. Any tips would be great.

1. Remove front grill
2. acctuate light assy half way up.
3. Remove both springs connected to pivot link pin
4. Remove hoses
5. Remove Cotter pin and pull link pin.
6. Remove mounting nuts (4)
7. Actuator should remove through grill opening.....

Also, has anyone had good or bad results with trying to fix a leaking actuator with a new seal???
Thanks for the help

Default actuator

I just r & r mine last week for seals and paint.I Removed springs and pins from underneath and did not remove the grill. That would have made it easier tho. Leave the assy. in the down position. With the hood down, move the act. to the center of the car. open the hood and remove the act. from the top. Wrap the act. in a towel to keep from scratching the hood. Check actuator with a vacuum guage to make sure that the inner diaphram is not leaking. Hook a guage on one side and vacuum source on the other. If there is any vacuum on the guage then the inside is leaking and the act. will need to be replaced.

It is easy I removed and reinstalled both of mine in less than 3 hours.

Jack the front of the car up. Removet the vacume hoses, Remove the center spoiler. Remove the springs from both sides. Remove cotter pin, remove the pivot rod, remove the four bolts holding the actuators, remove the actuator from the car via the topside. That is it. Reverse order for re-installation.

Pull the vacuum lines before moving the acctuator shaft by hand though. I blew out both seals on mine before I found that out.

they also will come up in between the hood and the front of the car ...but be really careful so you don't scratch the hood paint....we wrapped a towel on ours when we did this
