I know these are stock heads but I can't even find a vendor that sells them rebuilt, do I have to go on a scavenger hunt at junk yards for these heads?
Thanks,
Yuchen
Yeah, someone making a living from selling quick & cheap rebuilt heads won't care about the numbers. No money in it for them. If you want a specific head, then 2 places come to mind:
1. Put a WTB in the C3 Buy & Sell forum
2. Go to some large wrecking yards & ask if you can look at the racks of heads they have. Make a note of the cars those heads cam on & (if possible) wander the yard looking for those cars & then look under the hood.
It will be a tedious process, but probably the best way to find specific heads.
I don't believe they make those anymore. I think they were used from 67-70. I have a set of these on my 78 4x4. I got them from the local engine shop. They were modified to use the 2.02 valves. They are really good heads.
I sent you a pm on a set, newly rebuilt, machined for pc teflon vavle seals, 3 angle valve job, cleaned and magnafluxed, stock valves and springs, no rocker arms or nuts, rebuilt about 6 months ago and decided to build my big block instead, heads are ready to bolt on, took off a 68 or 69 impala about 10 years ago, $300 + shipping, Dave
