With 15's you can't beat the RWLs. I have them too.

Another cool look for 66-69 cars is red walls. In their day these were the hot look.
and even though they arent era correct for my 72 im seriously thinking about putting some on. (even at the risk of being flamed by ALL OF YOU hahaha)

I like the look of RWLs on my car because of the stock wheels
and black paint but if I ever go with larger, newer style wheels,
I'd switch to black walls. Not that I'd have a choice.

Three of my Vettes have the white letters showing. I think it makes
the Vette look a bit more racey.

how about making a stencil and spraying letters on modern tires. I'm thinking about trying this on my 17s.

Agree with most of the posts here - C3s definitely look better with RWLs showing.

RWL on a stock wheel, blackwall on aftermarket, that's how I'd do it. In fact my buddy with a 66 has a set of rallys with the RWL out and then a set of American Racing with blackwalls out. He switches them out whenever he feels like it.

I actually saw something in an auto parts store at some point, that was basically rubber paint to paint the black letters white. Don't really know how good it worked, and I'd hate to F up my tires if it didn't.
