Default CanAm 502 begins anew...

So now that I can go outside without freezing to death the CanAm 502 project is getting underway again. Just a short (not complete yet) list of things to do...

Install ROD 6 speed, new drive shaft, and new 3:36 diff
Install new offset trailing arms and 6 link strut rods (Freshly powdercoated w/1/2 studs)
Install new ebrake cable
Install new Gulstrand rear spring
Install new tubular a-arms and powdercoat front springs and spindles
Install new VB&P alloy front hubs w/Sport Rotors (1/2 inch studs)
Install new Rim and tire package
Finish fabricating and install new sidepipes and mufflers
Install oil cooler lines and oil temp sending unit
Finish fabricating & install new harrison overflow tank
Finish fabricating the roll cage, add the seat supports and gussets
Convert the front sway bar to rod ends
Fabricate winshield retainer clips and rear glass hold downs.
Install heat sheilding on wires and lines in the engine compartment

Think it will take a long weekend?

I would not even make it past the first line item in a weekend!!

Anytime I make a list like this, I underestimate the time required to complete the task. I hope you got through a lot of your items.

We'll its not freezing here any more BUT it's Raining Cats and Dogs

Mounted up the new nitto 555R tires on new rims today. WOW all that tire under fender and its 1/4 inch further in that what I have now.

Measurements on 15x11 rims and inflated to 32 PSI for the 325/50VR15's

27.5" tall
12.5" wide at the tread
14.25" section width

For the fronts I'd really liked to have 15x9x4 but I'm stuck with 15x8x3... 275/50VR15
25.7" tall
10.0" wide at the tread
and 12.0" section width

These should eliminate the hooking up problems but add to the broken parts pile...

I'll grab some pics of the tires on the rims and parts soon...

The powder coater called today and said my six link parts are done !!!

Too bad Nitto only makes 15's in a drag radial...no 15 inch street tires.

I would be interested in a 295/50/15 and a 265/50/15
Nor did I until I googled on to these Nittos. Keep in mind that these are DRAG Radials but they are V rated so they must be capable of 149 MPH sustained when properly inflated. The construction looks very similar to the 555R performace radials.
They are 2 ply side wall and 5 ply tread and rated for 15,000 miles of street driving.

I have a set of T rated Dunlop GT Qualifiers with 575 miles on them in exactly the sizes you mention and they will hookup if the phase of the moon is right.

I went with the 275 and 325 combo I dont think they have 265/295 sizes

These are 295's on 15x10x3 on my car... I put the extra width back to the inside...
